What could be you doing a Counter Breaker attempt on your screen would be a Shadow Counter instead if you were blocking on their screen. This same exact thing happened in KI if a desync occurred. Both players now are playing a different game.

And if you landed a hit on their end you'll very likely just be doing something else. What could be a juggle happening on your screen is now you pressing buttons and being a weirdo. Imagine the differences that now occur if an attack of yours whiffed or was blocked. Same input but an entirely different scenario, leading to a different move being done. But because the circumstances of the match are now different you'll now see some other moves not being done.įor example if you pressed a Standing 4 on your screen but on the other player's screen you were on the floor, your character will try to kick someone while getting up from a knockdown. All the inputs are still being read though.

Screen positioning is different, life is different. Once the desync occurs the entire match is now garbage. The differences are because the situations are now different.
